چکیده
Mutual entrainment effects in hot neutron-proton superfluid mixtures are studied the framework of self-consistent nuclear energy-density functional theory. The local mass currents homogeneous or inhomogeneous systems, which we derive from time-dependent Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov equations at finite temperatures, shown to have same formal expression as ones found earlier absence pairing zero temperature. Analytical expressions for matrix obtained application neutron-star cores. Results compared those using Landau's Our formulas, valid arbitrary temperatures and currents, applicable various types functionals including Brussels-Montreal series unified state been already calculated, thus, laying ground a fully consistent microscopic description neutron stars.

Empirical proton-neutron interactions and nuclear density functional theory: global, regional, and local comparisons.
Calculations of nuclear masses, using nuclear density functional theory, are presented for even-even nuclei spanning the nuclear chart. The resulting binding energy differences can be interpreted in terms of valence proton-neutron interactions. These are compared globally, regionally, and locally with empirical values. Overall, excellent agreement is obtained. Discrepancies highlight neglected ...
متن کاملIsospin mixing in nuclei within the nuclear density functional theory.
We present the self-consistent, nonperturbative analysis of isospin mixing using the nuclear density functional approach and the rediagonalization of the Coulomb interaction in the good-isospin basis. The unphysical isospin violation on the mean-field level, caused by the neutron excess, is eliminated by the proposed method. We find a significant dependence of the magnitude of isospin breaking ...
متن کاملLow density Neutron Matter at Finite and Zero Temperatures
This report concerns the energy of neutron-matter for densities below 0.15fm and temperatures at and below 10MeV . Separable NN-interactions are obtained by inverse scattering from the experimental phase-shifts with specified momentum cut-offs Λ. Results of Brueckner-Bloch-DeDomicis as well as finite temperature Green’s function calculations show independence of cut-off for Λ ≥ 3. Agreement wit...
متن کاملKohn-Sham density-functional theory within a finite basis set
The Kohn-Sham self-consistent equations, urnig a finite orbital basis expansion, are formulated for exchangecodation functionals which depend on local densities and their gradients. It is shown that these can be solved iteratively without evaluation of density Hessians. A general expression is given for the energy gradient (with respect to nuclear motion) after self-consistency has been achieved.
متن کاملPairing Nambu-Goldstone Modes within Nuclear Density Functional Theory.
We show that the Nambu-Goldstone formalism of the broken gauge symmetry in the presence of the T=1 pairing condensate offers a quantitative description of the binding-energy differences of open-shell superfluid nuclei. We conclude that the pairing-rotational moments of inertia are excellent pairing indicators, which are free from ambiguities attributed to odd-mass systems. We offer a new, unifi...
